GROUP LITURGY EXAMPLE FOR AUGUST
BEGIN WITH PRAYER · 5 MINUTES
Gather together as a Community in a comfortable setting (around a table, on the couch, the floor of a living room, etc.). Have somebody lead a prayer asking the Holy Spirit to lead and guide your time together.
MAKE ANNOUNCEMENTS · 5 MINUTES
Take this time to go over any details pertaining to any gatherings of your groups that may be upcoming. Additionally, invite the participants of your group to take out their phones, open up the Missio Dei App and navigate to the Events Tab on the App. Highlight a couple of events that are upcoming that you feel are pertinent to your group.
SHARE AND FILL OUT PRAYER CARDS ABOUT CURRENT PRAYER NEEDS THAT CORRESPOND WITH THE WEEKLY TOPIC · 20 MINUTES
Feel free to use the weekly discussion questions from the Intercession Page to guide you through the process of filling out the provided Prayer Cards. Encourage your Community Group to tuck these cards into their Bible as a reminder to prayer over these things each day throughout the week during their personal prayer times and during the corporate prayer times during your Community Group gatherings each week.
WEEK 1 · Prayers for Provision | Jehovah-Jireh
WEEK 2 · Prayers for Healing | Jehovah-Rapha
WEEK 3 · Prayers for Victory & Salvation | Jehovah-Nissi
WEEK 4 · Prayers for Peace | Jehovah-Shalom
SELECT SPECIFIC PEOPLE THAT NEED PRAYER AND LAY HANDS ON THEM AND PRAY FOR THEM · 40 MINUTES
Select people who need prayer and as a Community Group use this time to pray for them. Lay hands on them and pray specific things over them. Speak truth through prayer over their lives. Bring their needs before the Lord Together.
Complete this for as many people as time allows each time you gather as a Community Group. As you do your Community Group will begin to learn the importance of interceding for one another, the power in doing so, and practically how to do so.
CLOSE IN PRAYER · 10 MINUTES
Create a public forum space where people can pray and offer prayer for one another. Fight the urge to talk more about prayer than you do spend time praying. Invite someone to begin this time and someone to end this time together. Remember, silence is not the enemy of a time of prayer.
