“whoever would be great among you must be your servant”
This sentence from Jesus rings as true today as it did when He said it. Serving is at the heart of what it means to follow Jesus. Jesus served us in laying down His life and picking it up again. Our service to one another is a picture of this humility. At Missio Dei we provide several opportunities for you to serve both inside the Church as a part of one of our Sunday Gathering Teams or with one of our Local Partnerships. Beyond declaring the Gospel through our service being a part of a service team is a great way to make connections and build community within Missio Dei and within our city. Hospitality TEAM
Our Hospitality Team demonstrates the Gospel through welcoming presence and hospitable service. They express Jesus’ welcome of us through greeting each Sunday Gathering attendee at the door with a friendly face and a welcoming smile. Additionally this team takes responsibility for preparing and providing coffee as well as the set up and clean up of our communion supplies for use during our Sunday Gatherings. If you have a warm presence and demeanor and enjoy making people comfortable through welcoming them into our spaces and providing direction for first time guest this may be a great team for you to consider.
SAFETY TEAM
The Safety Team demonstrates the Gospel each week through expressing safety in our spaces and for the people attending Sunday Gatherings at Missio Dei. God is a safe God, and this team wants people to be reminded of that as they cultivate a safe environment at Missio Dei. This team greets each attendee in the parking lot with a friendly face ensuring that everyone gets parked and enters our facility safely. They monitor our spaces, with extra care for our Education Space where Missio Kids Discipleship is happening. If you are an attentive person who values safety, this could be a great team with which to serve.
FACILITIES TEAM
The Facilities Team demonstrates the Gospel through expressing God’s care for us through their care for our facilities. They take the job of providing a clean, and welcoming environment for each person who attends our Sunday Gatherings and a variety of other events. This team cleans and stocks each of our spaces, changes lightbulbs, sets out the signs, takes out the trash and various other tasks. If you enjoy working behind the seasons, this team welcomes all people with varying skill levels.
MISSIO KIDS TEAM
Our Missio Kids team demonstrates the Gospel through welcoming, praying, teaching and caring for children of all ages during our Sunday Gatherings. At Missio Dei, children are not distractions but disciples and this team takes that serious. Membership is required for teaching and lead roles on the Missio Kids team, and support roles are open to non members. All members of this team prioritize the safety of these children, therefore a background check and some training is required before joining this particular team.
RESPONSIVE ARTS TEAM
Our Responsive Arts Team includes musicians and vocalist of many types and varieties. They demonstrate the Gospel through an intentional curation of songs, readings, poetry and other artistic expressions during our Sunday Gatherings. Some experience and talent is required to participate on this team and there is an audition process to join. Membership is required to join the RA Team as a vocalist, but we do welcome musicians to participate as non members.
AV TEAM
Our AV team demonstrates the Gospel through their commitment to provide excellent audio visual experiences during our Sunday Gatherings and various other events. They take responsibility for the sound engineering and slide presentations that are an integral part of our Sunday Gatherings. If you enjoy the technical aspects of ministry and/or enjoy working behind the scenes this may be a great team for you. If you lack the technical expertise are production is simple and easy to teach if you are eager to learn.
LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS
City focused engagement; humbly listening to the culture and generously giving back to the city is a core part of our identity and values at Missio Dei. We have cultivated a number of local partnerships across our city and desire to partner and support their organizations and ministries doing incredible work in a specialized way rather than programming all of our ministry and operating city engagement through Missio Dei. We have a variety of local partnerships and believe your life will be enriched as you serve alongside of their teams and servants across our city providing support to these partners.
